Leon Goretzka sees some FC Bayern Munich professionals badly treated in public reporting. “Players are completely destroyed in the media. It certainly doesn’t help,” said Goretzka after FC Bayern’s 2-0 win against Hertha BSC and the return to the top of the Bundesliga table. “We’ll give the answers on the pitch – otherwise there’s no point anyway.”
You’ve been there long enough to know that’s part of it, said the 28-year-old midfielder. “We have to give our tasks and answers on the pitch.” Asked whether he was also referring to the criticism, Goretzka said: “One or the other has gotten a little more in the last few weeks.”
Sports director Hasan Salihamidzic did not specifically respond to the criticism in the media when asked, but emphasized his positive attitude towards the professionals. “I believe in all our players. The boys have our full support,” said the 46-year-old. He has “trust” in everyone.
