The German record champion starts strongly against the “blues”, but then briefly develop wild minutes. In the end, a series of Bavaria also lasts – but there is a drop of bitterness.

Start of FC Bayern in the Champions League season 2025/26: The German record champion clearly won 3-1 (2-1) against Chelsea on Wednesday evening.

An own goal of Chelseas Trevor Chalobah (20th) and Harry Kane with a double pack (27th/foul eleventh, 64.) ensured the hosts that were also deserved in height. Cole Palmer (29th) temporarily shortened harmless Londoners for overall offensive.

The only downside: Josip Stanišić had to get off the pitch in the 51st minute, and it is still unclear whether the defender will be out for a long time. Due to success, Bayern also keep an impressive series alive: for the 22nd time in a row, the Munich prelude were able to win their prelude to the “premier class”.

Former Bavaria and Chelsea Profi Michael Ballack then said as a TV expert: “This is an exclamation mark.” Munich sports director Christoph Freund also hardly came out of the raven about Harry Kane: “There are very, very rarely such a player worldwide. It is not normal how often he meets again and again.”

The spectators felt a game at the K.-O.-round level. And it was the offensive individual queues on both sides that provided the special moments and actions. Michael Olise was a constant asset in Bavaria next to Kane. It was no wonder that his cross led to the lead gate when Chalobah unhappily hit the shin and goal.

Shortly thereafter, Kane skilfully turned to Chelsea-professional Moises Caicedo when taking the ball in the penalty area, taking out the penalty. The former Tottenham professional I freezing cold, the eighth goal in his flawless penalty record for FC Bayern in the “premier class”.

But Chelsea also had great on the field: Cole Palmer shortened worth seeing after a rapid counterattack. The English international was also the match winner at Chelseas 3-0 in the final of the club World Cup against Champions League winner Paris Saint-Germain in the USA.

The fast Chelsea response to Munich 2-0 caused excitement. At the break, Kompany changed national defenders Jonathan Tah. Shortly afterwards Stanišić had to get out of injured. The offensive game did not affect that, the ball continued to ran through the Munich rows.

There was only one problem – the missing 3: 1. Kane failed free to go from Konrad Laimer to goalkeeper Robert Sánchez. And Olise shot the Spanish goalkeeper freely after wonderful preparatory work by Kane (60th). However, the chance user did not take revenge because Kane hung ice cold again shortly after a involuntary submission of Chelsea’s Malo Gusto in the penalty area.
