FC Bayern’s once again less than stellar performance in the 3-2 (2-0) away game against FC Augsburg was largely okay for coach Thomas Tuchel. After the game, the 50-year-old still had to comment on an outburst during the final phase.

What happened? Tuchel lost his composure in the fifth minute of injury time when the Augsburg bench complained about a break in the game by referee Christian Dingert.

The reason for this: midfielder Aleksandar Pavlovic tripped over FCA professional Arne Maier in a duel and hit the ground.

“Hey, we have an injured player. Sit on your bench, hey! Are you crazy or what? What’s wrong with you, hey,” Tuchel shouted in the direction of the home team’s bench, clearly audible on TV over the in Outdoor microphones installed in the WWK Arena.

After the final whistle, the coach of the German record champions declared his outburst of anger. “Someone complained on the Augsburg bench and we had an injured player lying there. But he didn’t see that. These are emotions,” he said when asked about the scene on “Sky”.

FC Bayern: Thomas Tuchel is happy about “extremely important points”

It is no coincidence that Tuchel is now reacting thinly to all of his players’ (supposed) injuries.

With Kingsley Coman (torn knee ligament), FC Bayern lost another top performer due to injury in Augsburg. According to media reports, the 27-year-old Frenchman will be out for two to three months.

Overall, Tuchel was satisfied with his team’s performance in Augsburg. “We are happy with the result. We knew it would be a difficult game,” he said at the press conference after the game. “It got a bit wild at the back. These are extremely important points.”

Positive from FC Bayern’s point of view: Bayer Leverkusen’s victory and subsequent 0-0 draw against Borussia Mönchengladbach means that the gap to the leaders is now only two points.
