FC Bayern and PSG reach verbal agreement

Lucas Hernández’s farewell to Bayern Munich is taking on more concrete forms. According to a recent media report, it won’t be long before his move to French champions Paris Saint-Germain is announced.

According to “Cadena Ser” from Spain, FC Bayern and Ligue 1 club PSG have reached a “verbal agreement” on the transfer of Lucas Hernández.

The French central defender is moving to his home country for the new season. Subject to the medical check, the deal has been agreed between all parties. An official announcement is expected in the next few days.

The TV station “Sky” reported on Monday evening that Bayern CEO Jan-Christian Dreesen was still negotiating with PSG these days. The Munich transfer fee should amount to 50 million euros plus bonus payments. However, FC Bayern has not yet received an official offer from the Parisians.

The 27-year-old Hernández actually still has a contract with the German record champions until 2024. In the past few months, the club had been working hard on an early contract extension until 2027 – despite the serious knee injury that Hernández sustained at the World Cup in Qatar. Hernández announced his desire to change after the end of the season, it is said.

Hernández waves five-year contract after leaving Bayern

FC Bayern had signed the 33-time national player in the summer of 2019 for the Bundesliga record transfer fee of 80 million euros. However, Hernández was not always able to meet the high expectations, also due to numerous injuries. In the Bundesliga, the left-footed player has only made 74 appearances in four years, and he was in the starting XI 59 times.

According to French media reports, Hernández is looking forward to a new five-year contract with an annual salary of allegedly 15 million euros at PSG.

The South Korean Min-jae Kim from SSC Napoli is traded as his successor at Bayern Munich. According to reports, the Munich team is already very advanced in poker for the central defender.
