According to unanimous media reports, German champions Bayern Munich and Europa League winners Eintracht Frankfurt will play the opening game of the coming season in the Bundesliga. The TV channel Sport1 and the “Frankfurter Rundschau” report on this before the publication of the fixtures this Friday (12 noon) by the German Football League (DFL). According to Sport1 information, the encounter will take place in Frankfurt.
In the Bundesliga, the season that will be interrupted by the World Cup in Qatar from November 21st to December 18th begins on August 5th. It is already certain that Bayern will take part in the first game. Only the opponent has not yet been officially named.
Because of the World Cup, there will be a two-month winter break during the upcoming season. Therefore, the first half of the Bundesliga season will be interrupted after the 15th matchday. After the winter break, it will continue on January 20, 2023. The season ends on 27./28. May 2023.
