FC Barcelona suffered a humiliating 0-1 loss to Spanish league giants Almeria, who were 19th in the league.
Playing at home, Almeria scored the winning goal in the 24th minute. Malian El Bilal Toure ran away from the defenders and slammed the ball in through the top bar.
Barcelona couldn’t create a match. It kept the ball, but the 0-1 result was not an injustice. The Catalans’ midfield still lacked a quarterback Peterand it showed.
On top of that, Barcelona will be without their head coach in their next league match against Valencia Xavibecause he got himself suspended on the side of the field.
Barcelona’s gap to second place Real Madrid narrowed to seven points over the weekend. Real picked up one point on Saturday when they drew 1-1 with local rivals Atletico Madrid.
