FC Barcelona is probably dealing with BVB defenders

Raphael Guerreiro is a constant on the left side of defense at Borussia Dortmund. FC Barcelona apparently takes note of the performance of the BVB professional with great interest.

As reported by journalist Gerard Romero, the Catalans are considering signing Raphael Guerreiro.

As a result, Barca are looking for a competitor for Jordi Alba, who has been seeded at the Camp Nou for many years. However, Guerreiro is probably not the only alternative for the left-back position at the traditional club.

Alex Sandro (Juventus), Alex Telles (Manchester United), Nicolas Tagliafico (Ajax Amsterdam) and Alfonso Pedraza (Villarreal FC) are also said to be on the FC Barcelona list. However, the Spanish top flight side are said to be looking for a short-term option to potentially make a move at Valencia FC’s José Gayà in the summer.

Guerreiro is one of the permanent staff at BVB

So Guerreiro would be more likely to be eliminated. In any case, the 28-year-old still has a contract with BVB until 2023, so Borussia is not forced to sell at all. In addition, Guerreiro is considered indispensable in Dortmund. Nico Schulz or Felix Passlack are not real alternatives to the Portuguese.

Guerreiro has played for BVB since 2016. At that time, the ex-European champions switched from the French club FC Lorient to the Westphalia for around twelve million euros. Since then, Guerreiro has completed over 170 competitive games for Borussia Dortmund. The veteran should also be part of the regular staff at BVB in the coming months.

FC Barcelona will most likely have to look for another left-back as BVB shouldn’t be interested in selling Guerreiro to the Primera División during the winter transfer window.
