With an unusual step, Gerard Piqué has denied a report by the Catalan broadcaster “TV3” about his supposed annual income.

The central defender of FC Barcelona published a photo of his salary payment received on December 30, 2021 on Twitter on Friday evening. Accordingly, the 34-year-old collected exactly 2,328,884.39 million euros net for his services from July to December.

This is a lot of money, but significantly less than the amount mentioned in the “TV3” report: There was talk of an annual gross income of 28 million euros. Piqué’s account statement, on the other hand, allows the conclusion that he receives a little less than ten million euros gross per year.

Previously, FC Barcelona had already denied the report and described the figures it contains as incorrect.

In “TV3”, Marc-André ter Stegen’s supposed gross earnings were also described. The German national goalkeeper allegedly received 14 million euros gross. Unlike Piqué, the former Gladbacher did not comment on the report.
