The development of women’s football is also progressing in England. A club from the capital is now taking a significant step.

A historical step for English women’s football: The players of FC Arsenal will permanently play their league home games from the coming season in the Emirates stage. The club announced on Tuesday.

Already last season Arsenal had completed nine of eleven home games in the Women’s Super League (WSL) in the club’s main stadium. The audience cut was 34.110. In the 5-0 derby victory against Tottenham, 56,748 fans came in February-a club record.

Encounters in the trophy and in the Champions League qualification remain scheduled in the smaller Meadow Park. According to club information, over 415,000 tickets have already been sold for the new season – an increase of 20 percent compared to the previous year.

Arsenal had ended the past season in the league behind FC Chelsea in second place, but triumphed in the Champions League. In the final, the team won 1-0 against defending champion FC Barcelona.
