Two young women both fell victim to 22-year-old Faysal A. from Tilburg. He abused one woman when he had a relationship with her and threatened the other after she had called the relationship. He himself denied all the abuse in the court in Breda on Thursday, but he acknowledged that he needs help anyway.
Only barely three years in the Netherlands from Curaçao and already an impressive criminal record. Faysal A. will shrug his shoulders in the courtroom. He was blamed for his head all afternoon and has also had several penalties for aggression in recent years. Against agents, a conductor and therefore against women.
The judges always look for customization in such a case. A. will probably get a punishment for the mistreatment and threatening of two exes and having alarm guns and a revolver, but the question was: how to proceed?
If Faysal A. continues like this, he will be back in court in no time. And next time it might be less likely to end with the people he focuses on.
Mistreatment in Schuurtje
This Thursday Faysal was on trial for aggression against two ex-girlfriends. In 2022 he abused his girlfriend from Blerick in Limburg in the shed of the house in Tilburg where he lived with his mother. Shortly thereafter he hit her in the car at Blerick station so hard that the woman sustained seven bone fractures in her face.
Both were lying against the doctors and told that the woman had fallen. Faysal seemed to improve his life and often visited his girlfriend and gave her presents. But in the summer of 2022 it went wrong again and he pushed her down the stairs and kicked her against her head.
An ex from Waalwijk mainly got the full layer when she wanted to stop the relationship. Via Snapchat, WhatsApp and speech messages he made her the same. The most used word in his abuse was ‘cancer’. “I set your house on fire,” “I’m putting your car on fire,” “I let your pain suffer,” “I’m going to shoot you,” and “I’m going to terrorize you” is just a small hold.
Both women still suffer from the abuse and threats of Faysal. They are still afraid that he suddenly turns up again. Faysal made their lives very small among the women. They were no longer allowed to see (male) friends and he always wanted to know exactly where they were. If the women did not comply with his conditions, he became angry.
No more contact with his exes
The public prosecutor demanded in addition to a 24 -month in prison sentence, 6 of which were conditional, especially a whole series of conditions for trying to keep the hard -leather Faysal under control.
For example, she demanded treatment for his aggression, supervised living, drug and alcohol control and a reporting obligation for the probation service for every new relationship. In addition, he is no longer allowed to contact his exes or come to them. As a bonus, the officer also demanded that the three conditional penalties that A. still has open to earlier aggression must now be served.
Faysal was only a bit added the entire session and only gave some short answers. One of the judges found that he was ‘not very open’. Faysal himself said that he would like to change his character and dealing with people. But how did he not know exactly. He himself did not have a good example in his youth in which he himself was mistreated and fought his parents.
Fayssal denied
He also realized that he quickly becomes aggressive if it doesn’t work for a while, the way he wants. But he really hadn’t done that abuse of his ex. And not all of those threats against that other ex. And that revolver who was found after a chase in a planter on the hill in Tilburg was not his either. His lawyer therefore requested acquittal for most facts and insisted on starting with help for A. instead of a long prison sentence.
If Faysal is convicted and will therefore have to meet all the conditions, the probation service will still have a heavy bob. Faysal is not very open about things, the probation service already found. “If you really want to change, it is good to acknowledge what you have done,” one of the judges told him fatherly.
The decision in this case is on February 13.
