Favorable World Cup draw: Orange linked to Qatar, Senegal and Ecuador

At the World Cup, the Dutch national team will meet Qatar, Senegal and Ecuador in the group stage. At the draw in Doha, the team of national coach Louis van Gaal is linked to the three countries. At first sight, this means a favorable draw for Orange.

With Qatar, the Orange is in the group stage with the organizer of the World Cup. It is the first time for the Arab country to participate in the World Cup. Earlier this week, national coach Louis van Gaal was extremely critical of Qatar. “A ridiculous World Cup, but it’s about money and commercial interests,” said Van Gaal.

Senegal recently crowned itself the best country on the African continent. After penalties, the team of world star Sadio Mané, among others, defeated Egypt after penalties. The Dutch national team has never played against Senegal, not even in a friendly international match. Ecuador was the last to end up in the group of the Netherlands. The Orange squad last played against the South Americans (1-1) in 2014.

Group A: Qatar, Senegal, Ecuador, NETHERLANDS

The World Cup starts on Monday, November 21, and the final is on Sunday, December 18.
