The police prevented a family drama in a house in Asten on Friday. A 37-year-old father threatened to kill his children. After several reports, including from the mother of the children, the police decided to raid the house.
Upon entering the house, the police found the two boys on the floor, dazed. They were immediately taken to the hospital, they were injured in the neck and head. Due to the circumstances, the children are now doing better, reports the Public Prosecution Service (OM).
Mother in panic
The mother had called the police in a panic with the message that her children may have been killed by her husband, the Public Prosecution Service said in a message. Several people called her on Friday morning that something was wrong in the house on the Elfenbank.
The woman had relationship problems with the 37-year-old father of the children. The detectives have now spoken with several witnesses and further investigations must show what exactly happened in the house. In the house, among other things, trace research has been carried out.
After his arrest, the father was interrogated and presented to the examining magistrate on Monday afternoon. That determined that the man will be detained for at least two weeks longer. He is suspected of two attempted murders of his children.
