Father Norbert talks about Sebastian Vettel’s resignation

The four-time world champion ends his career at the end of the current season. Father Norbert Vettel talks about his son’s decision – and a big goal.

Sebastian Vettel’s father Norbert definitely wants to see his son live in a Formula 1 race again before his career ends. “I definitely want to go to a race again and I’ll probably choose Monza because that’s where he got his first Formula 1 victory with Toro Rosso. There his great career as a four-time world champion with his first win – also in Toro Rosso – started,” said Norbert Vettel RTL / ntv.

There will be a race in Monza on September 11th, where Vettel sensationally won for the first time in 2008.

His father regrets the 35-year-old’s departure at the end of the year. “It’s a shame, but I understand him. It was an incredible career for my son and the low point was Austria,” said Norbert Vettel. “It hurt him so much to drive around at the end of the field and that accelerated this thought.”

At Spielberg in July, Aston Martin driver Vettel collided with Pierre Gasly in the Alpha Tauri and finished last after a frustrating day of racing.
