The accident happened around 9:30 p.m. A man from Izegem drove along the Reperstraat towards Izegem with his children. At the intersection they collided with a van coming from Veldstraat.
The father’s car ended up in a ditch after the impact. The van ended up in a field next to the road. Both vehicles were severely damaged.
The father and his two children were taken to hospital for examination with minor injuries. The 63-year-old driver of the van was trapped and had to be freed by the fire brigade. His injuries are not life-threatening, but he was taken to hospital with serious injuries.
