Father and son want to get rid of suspicion of murder attempt | 1Limburg

The Brunssum car dealer Tony P. and his son Jonino (21) remain suspected of involvement in a murder attempt in Sittard. They unsuccessfully requested the judge to put an end to the case.

On September 12, 2020, Anthy P. was shot in Bradley Street. He barely survived the shooting.

Shooter confesses
Vince C. (36) has since stated that he fired the shots, while Henrik J. (29) was driving the motorbike Vince was riding when he fired. Kevin S. (37) in turn would have lured the victim to the crime scene. These three men are incarcerated to this day for the liquidation attempt. The trial against the trio is expected to take place at the end of this year.

Lack of evidence
That seems to be the case. However, there is a lot of movement in the background. After all, Justice has more suspects on its list than just Henrik, Kevin and Vince. Father Tony and son Jonino even featured high on that suspect list for some time. The latter was arrested in January 2021 for the assassination attempt, his father was then in a Belgian cell for a drug case and is still there.

Jonino was released from custody after several months, due to a lack of evidence linking him to the shooting. Since then, lawyer Peer Szymkowiak has not heard anything pointing to involvement of his clients Jonino and Tony.

Witnesses heard
Szymkowiak therefore requested the judge to officially end the case against the duo. On February 15, the judge decided otherwise. Witness hearings are still scheduled for July and September of this year. Theoretically, there is a chance that these witnesses will say something about a link between Jonino, Tony and the other suspects. “Ridiculous”, says lawyer Szymkowiak.

Two groups
As the cards stand, justice distinguishes between two groups who both had a feud with victim Anthy. On the one hand they are Jonino, Tony and supporters and on the other Henrik, Vince and Kevin. The victim had a conflict with both Tony and Vince. So far, however, the accuser has found no link or evidence linking the two groups.

Tony and his entourage are said to have discussed the killing of Anthy via the encrypted messaging service EncroChat. However, that happened some time before the actual attack. Henrik and Vince, both members of a Danish chapter of motorcycle club Satudarah, are also said to have spoken about Anthy. According to the judiciary, they did this via messaging service Sky.

Silent Dane
Vince, who grew up in Geleen but has been living in Copenhagen for several years, is the only one who has made a confessional statement for the time being. His Danish companion Henrik has mainly invoked his right to remain silent for more than a year. Kevin says he lured Anthy but thought he would be beaten up. He would have known nothing about an attack.
