The French Football Federation banned the suspension of matches in order for Muslim football players to break their fast.

The federation, which sent an e-mail to the Federal Commission of Referees (CFA) yesterday, requested that the matches not be interrupted in order for Muslim football players to break their fast.

In the e-mail, the 1st article of the federation’s statute states, “Football does not take into account the political, religious, ideological or trade union views of its players. It is the responsibility of all parties to ensure that this principle, which is binding for everyone, is respected.” statement was included. It was warned that those who violate these provisions could be punished.

After the details of the e-mail appeared in the press, various platforms, especially social media, reacted to the ban.

In England, it was announced that during the matches in the Premier League and lower leagues, the referees will give time to the players to break their fast when the game pauses.
