Fashion sites shock and feast: top model Irina Shayk wears ‘ugliest shoes ever’ | show

with picturesThe Russian top model Irina Shayk (37) has caused astonishment even among experienced fashion watchers with her new footwear. Vogue speaks of the ugliest shoes of all time, but also loves the photos that Shayk shared on Instagram this week. What are these shoes?

Shayk wears the ‘ugly shoe to end all ugly shoes‘ headline Vogue. In other words: we never have to argue again about which shoes are the ugliest. It is the long black colossus that Shayk wears in the photos with which she has collected more than 267,000 likes since Wednesday.

Also at fashion site InStyle they had to look twice. Shayk has been in the news more often in recent months with striking clothing choices, such as with her transparent dress and the two-strap leather top at the Cannes Film Festival. But this is her most “chaotic” look to date, the site writes. If only because the photos were taken on a tennis court and these shoes are incredibly impractical there.

String shoe

“Is it pantyhose?” writes Vogue. ‘A boot? Is it a thong designed to cut off circulation at the big toe?’ That last joke isn’t as far-fetched as it may seem. After all, the shoes are very reminiscent of the so-called ‘string boots’ of the Italian luxury brand Miu Miu. The top looks like a normal boot, the bottom looks like a thong. The lace is now not between the buttocks, but between the toes.

Shayk’s shoes are even more extreme: they go to the thighs instead of the knees and look a bit uncomfortable at the foot area. Moving is probably easier, because Shayk’s copies are not made of leather.

Repulsive and attractive

Her striking outfit – completed with bright yellow hot pants, mini skirt and sweater – fits Shayk exactly, according to the sites. She has been regularly dressing in “nonsense clothes” in front of her 22.6 million Instagram followers, according to Vogue. The model throws clothes together in a way that repels and attracts at the same time, the result the magazine calls an ‘aphrodisiac’ for the mind, or something that stimulates the brain.

The top model does not come up with it all himself, says Vogue. Stylist Natasha Colvin would use Shayk as a guinea pig for her “crazed” fashion experiments. They are also sometimes more subtle. Remember that time Shayk wore strikingly simple flats under a classic dress by designer Yohji Yamamoto at the Met Gala. Or that time she combined football boots with a dress in Cannes, after which she was spotted more often with the walkers.
