Fashion platform Miinto acquires second-hand clothing marketplace The Vintage Bar

Fashion platform Miinto has acquired The Vintage Bar, an online marketplace for used designer clothing, the Danish company said in a statement. The acquisition price is not mentioned in this press release.

With the acquisition of The Vintage Bar, Miinto increases its stake in second-hand clothing. The company has had its own second-hand clothing department since June 2019, but with the takeover of The Vintage Bar it wants to increase this share to a quarter of the range by 2025. It’s currently about five percent.

The two companies will continue to operate separately, but will soon share a common back office to streamline purchasing and sales processes. The Vintage Bar’s products will also be available on Miinto, and Miinto will leverage The Vintage Bar’s existing platform to launch its own C2C marketplace later, the release said.

Miinto’s webshop sells products from over 900 independent retailers who are members of the platform. The company operates in Denmark, Sweden, Norway, the Netherlands, Belgium, Poland, Switzerland and Italy.
