Farmers Defense Force members sort for new actions: ‘The anger prevails’

The nitrogen recommendations of Johan Remkes have gone down the wrong way for a number of members of the farmer’s action group Farmers Defense Force (FDF). The recommendations may be a prelude to new protest actions.

“If it turns out that the farmers do not accept this report – that this is far from sufficient and that they do not accept forced buy-out – and that they therefore want to protest, then I will supervise it as best I can,” says board member Jos Ubels. Others against news agency ANP.

About twenty members of FDF are putting their heads together tonight in Nijkerk in Gelderland. They are critical of the ideas of Remkes, who has held numerous talks with farmers, nature organizations, politicians and companies in recent weeks. “They are not good in The Hague. Mandatory buy-out is not about anything,” says one of the ‘leaders’ from the farmers’ action group.
