Fantasy football, Zielinski no longer brings bonuses: keep it or trade it?

A 2022 devoid of ‘bonuses’ for Piotr Zielinski. The Polish midfielder, key man of Napoli, was no longer able to be incisive on the blue trocar despite the undisputed ownership (only one missed match, for Covid-19, on 9 January) with Spalletti who practically always threw him into the fray.

After an excellent first round, seasoned with five goals and five assists, Zielinski (26 million) turned off the light, as demonstrated in Sunday’s match against Milan where he was unrecognizable for large sections of the match, perhaps one of the worst in field on the Neapolitan shore. Just against the Rossoneri – in the first leg on December 19 – he had signed his last bonus, the assist from the corner on which Elmas stood out. The goal has been missing since 4 December: a useless goal – for the purposes of the result – with Napoli defeated by Atalanta at Diego Armando Maradona. What is worrying, sifting through the data of the latest matches played by the Pole, is the avalanche of errors, in the construction phase, of the player who has lost several possessions while also lacking in the passage: a significant reversal of trend compared to what was shown in the first part Seasonal.

Not a simple moment, therefore, to ‘hold back’ Zielinski, currently a ghost of himself in this first part of 2022. Napoli’s goal, however, is important and the blue calendar – removed the triptych of April against Atalanta, Fiorentina and Rome – invites you to focus on the flexible and strong midfielder until the end of the championship. Much depends, however, on your midfield and on your classification possibilities. If you are in the top positions, it is worth confirming Zielinski between now and the end of the season. If you want to dare and ‘change it’, propose the player as a bargaining chip by aiming for some ‘top’ like Milinkovic-Savic, Pellegrini and Pasalic.
