A hopeless mission against Denmark
AMSTERDAM – The European Championship, which went fantastic from a sporting point of view, has taken a more bizarre turn for the Dutch handball men by the day. Corona completely hollowed out the selection, but doesn’t get the feeling of pride under it. Against world champions Denmark, eight players and three staff members, including national coach Erlingur Richardsson and top scorer Kay Smits, watched the game from their hotel room. The 35-23 defeat and with that elimination for a place in the semi-finals were a logical consequence.
