Fantanews: the tops and the flops of the 37th round

Martinez Quarta too insufficient: too many inaccuracies. Bad race for Musa Barrow as well

As usual, in the last few days the goals – and consequently – the bonuses have increased. There are 34 total goals in the 37th round of Serie A. New verdicts are arriving: Inter and Milan join Napoli and Inter in the next Champions League (waiting for Roma’s final on Wednesday against Sevilla) while in the safety zone Lecce exits the ‘impasse, with Spezia and Verona who – if the championship ended today – would compete in a tough playoff to keep the category. Here are the protagonists, the “tops” and the “flops”, in terms of fantasy football, of this penultimate round of matches.

Top

The main protagonist of the day is undoubtedly Wladimiro Falcone (25 credits). The Lecce goalkeeper has the merit of hypnotizing Gytkjaer, Monza striker, from the penalty spot (with the score 0-0), before celebrating the marking of teammate Colombo, able to score the saving goal from eleven meters . The goalkeeper got an 8 on his report card, the icing on the cake of a season played at the highest levels. Victor Osimhen (92) scored another brace, proving to be the leader of the top scorer despite him stopping at the post in the last two games. He showed all his arsenal, first scoring a goal from the area by taking advantage of Skorupski’s sensational duck, then he conceded an encore with a relentless diagonal low shot that led to the Azzurri’s double. The Nigerian striker deserved a 7.5 on his report card and will try to increase his tally of goals also in the last home match against Sampdoria on 4 June. Finally, Sergej Milinkovic-Savic (55) earned a place in our top3 thanks to the precious brace with which he defeated the Cremonese on the farewell day, at the Olimpico, of Stefan Radu, flag of the capitolini. A double mark that consolidated the second place of the Biancoceleste team. The strong Serbian midfielder scored nine goals, one step away from team-mate Zaccagni’s double digits.

Flop

For a super Falcone, there’s a decidedly bad Gytkjaer (10 credits). The Monza striker first misses the penalty of the lead, then gets the penalty scored by Colombo which sanctions the salvation of Lecce. An afternoon to forget for the expert Danish centre-forward. The ‘4’ in the report card is inevitable. Same vote also for Martinez Quarta (17): the Fiorentina defender commits many inaccuracies often giving Roma the opportunity to attack the Viola defense. Not exactly an important calling card for the Argentine in view of the Conference League final, scheduled for next week and which will see the Tuscan team face West Ham. He risks being benched by the Italian coach. Finally, a bad race for Musa Barrow (29). The Gambian confirms the ups and downs experienced in recent weeks. Against Cremonese he had offered two excellent assists showing a recovery both in performance and in the desire to affect the rossoblù attack. Yesterday, however, against Napoli he had yet another down form finding little confidence in his ability. 4.5 heavy, not the first of a completely discontinuous year for the talented Bologna player.
