Newcastle United lost 2-0 to Liverpool on Saturday. For supporter Alan Carling, that was already a bitter pill to swallow. But the day became even more annoying when he opened the front door on his return home: on the mat lay his tickets for the League Cup final, torn into dozens of pieces. Almost nothing was left of the final cards.
Perpetrator? Carling’s dog Rudy. “Rudy thinks there’s a break-in if a letter comes through the letterbox,” Carling said on his Facebook page. “He apparently liked the idea of tearing up the Wembley tickets when I wasn’t home.” Out of anger, Carling put his dog up for sale for 5.5 euros.
It is unknown whether Carling can still visit the historic game for Newcastle United. The League Cup final is on Sunday at 5.30pm and takes place at Wembley. The winner automatically qualifies for European football. In the Premier League, Manchester United is third and Newcastle United fifth.
