A very sweet gesture from a police officer in Tilburg caused a startled reaction on Sunday morning by a family traveling in a car. The officer signaled the driver to stop and then surprised the occupants.

Because it is a quiet Sunday morning for the police, and Mother’s Day, the officer got a nice idea. She decided to buy a bouquet of roses and hand out the flowers to mothers she would encounter at work.

“We see several mothers walking on the street and wish them a happy Mother’s Day with this flower,” the officer writes on Instagram. A little later she saw the family in the car.

“You know why we are pulling you over?” she asked the occupants when the driver had stopped. They looked at her in shock. The officer then reminded them that this Sunday is Mother’s Day and gave the mother of the family flowers. “Fortunately, the shock quickly turned into happy relief, haha.”
