The facts occurred in a house in the rue du Bilemont. The emergency services arrived on Friday around 1 pm and found the body of the 28-year-old woman. The police cordoned off the neighborhood and arrested the 53-year-old father of the victim, the suspected perpetrator. The forensic laboratory arrived on site, as did the zone chief and the mayor of Mouscron Brigitte Aubert.
The man’s motive is not yet known. According to various media sources, father and daughter had an argument. “With regard to the facts in Mouscron, there will be no communication before Sunday, at the request of the investigating judge,” the public prosecutor’s office has heard.
“They had lived here for at least 25 years,” a local resident told SudInfo. “The girl always said hello, but I didn’t know her well,” it sounds. A few years ago, the victim took part in the Miss Belgium pageant, in which she was presented as someone with her heart in the right place. Her 53-year-old father is said to be a former professional football player, but is also said to suffer from depression and alcohol problems.
