Facebook Down: How to Troubleshoot Current Issues

Reports of issues on Facebook are rapidly increasing. Users are experiencing difficulties accessing the website, and this is being widely acknowledged.

  • Over 11,200 issues reported on netzwelt.de
  • The problems don’t seem to originate from Facebook itself.
  • Affected users should restart the app or try accessing Facebook via a browser.

Currently, Facebook is experiencing a significant disruption. Since 9 AM, we have received a noticeable increase in error reports. Affected users span across the country, including cities like Berlin, Hamburg, and Cologne. Instagram has also been affected, suggesting a more extensive server issue within the Meta corporate family.

The majority of user reports revolve around difficulties loading the Facebook website. Approximately 50% of the notifications pertain to this specific issue. Additionally, users are encountering login problems. We verified these issues, as our feeds were replaced by error messages instead of the expected content.

Why Restarting May Help

If you cannot access Facebook, the first step is to completely close the app and restart it. If that does not resolve the issue, switching between Wi-Fi and mobile data or testing Facebook in a web browser may help. If these methods fail, visiting the Facebook Help Center could provide additional support. Given that numerous users are reporting similar issues simultaneously, it is likely a significant server problem at Meta. In such cases, waiting for the issue to be resolved is often necessary.
