But Red Bull and Mercedes also have to respond. Milton Keynes’s team showed a worrying fragility, with the retirement of Max Verstappen and Sergio Perez in the final laps of Sakhir when they were firmly holding third and fourth places. The Stuttgart team must try to get back on top after a difficult debut: the F1 W13 does not seem born very fast.
