Extreme tension before one of the most explosive processes of the year

Extreme tension before one of the most explosive processes of the year! The district court in Tiergarten has to sit behind bulletproof glass on Monday. Defenders are under armed police protection – for fear of attacks by the militant left-wing scene.

Listeners and journalists have to undergo a body search. Your ID will be copied and all electronic devices must be handed in at the security gate.

► The extraordinary reason for the highest security level is the arson attack on the left-wing politician Ferat Kocak. In the meantime, the judiciary can no longer rule out an assassination attempt.

The background

Five men (35 to 50 years old) who are said to belong to the right-wing extremist neo-Nazi scene have been charged in the Tiergarten district court. It’s about illegal posting of right-wing extremist slogans (“Antifa Hurensohn”, “Headshot”, “Antifa Bastard” etc.), social benefit fraud and fraud with Corona emergency aid.

But the core of the charges are two arson attacks on cars. One belonged to the well-known left-wing politician Ferat Kocak.

The assassination

On February 1, 2018 at 2:55 a.m., the politician on Klettenweg in Neukölln was woken up by an explosion and a fire. The flames destroyed a Mercedes and threatened to spread to his parents’ house and a gas line in the carport. But Ferat Kocak was able to prevent that.
