It is becoming increasingly clear that RTL 4 is facing a major problem late at night. After Eva Jinek, Beau van Erven Dorens is now also in heavy weather. In fact, he capsized last night.
RTL boss Peter van der Vorst turned a whole box of tricks upside down yesterday to save Beau van Erven Dorens from a viewing loss. Because of the Conference League final between AS Roma and Feyenoord, an extra repetition was pulled out to allow Beau to start as late as possible. The result? Still no dog looked.
Beau from the top 25
Beau didn’t start until 10:45 PM yesterday, about an hour later than usual. At the beginning of the broadcast, the host took place between three football-watching celebrities, who sadly walked into the studio after about fifteen minutes because Feyenoord had lost. It’s inevitable that Beau now walks around with the same sad face.
For the first time, Beau flew out of the top 25 viewership with his program: only 344 thousand people (10% market share) watched his broadcast on RTL 4, despite the fact that he only overlapped a little with football. He needed seven thousand more viewers for a place in the viewing figures overview.
Op1 did score
Op1, which started at about the same time as Beau, still had a great evening with 691 thousand viewers (20%). And Today Inside, which has a large group of football fans as viewers, saw 539 thousand viewers (10%). Both programs not only reached the top 25, but even the top 15.
How many people watched AS Roma – Feyenoord? Veronica’s report was the big winner of the evening with 2.3 million viewers (44%). Via ESPN, an additional 483,000 people (9%).
Frits on two
Only one program scored millions directly opposite football: Between Kunst en Kitsch by presenter Frits Sissing came to 1.2 million viewers (23%) on NPO 1. Immediately afterwards, the film WILD: colorful families in the Veluwe was still there. 381 thousand (7%) left.
In addition to this nature film, Frits and the men of Today Inside, only two other prime-time titles made it to the top 25: Addicted with 363 thousand viewers (7%) on RTL 4 and Nieuwsuur with 350 thousand viewers (7%) on NPO 2.
Viewing figures
Programs that also failed to make the top 15 include Hart van Nederland (433 thousand), Shownieuws (390 thousand), Tijd voor MAX (369 thousand), Dutch celebrities in the hospital (282 thousand) and HLF8 (236 thousand).
