The cabinet has decided to further increase the maximum hourly rate for childcare costs. The maximum hourly rate will increase next year by an additional 0.94% for all forms of childcare. This means a structural increase of €57 million on top of the previous €225 million for regular indexation. As a result, parents will receive a higher reimbursement through the childcare allowance, due to the high inflation in 2022. This is what Minister Van Gennip of Social Affairs and Employment wrote today in a letter to the House of Representatives.
