Because many people go to Schiermonnikoog in both the Ascension and Whitsun weekends, Qbuzz makes extra trips with bus line 163 (Groningen – Lauwersoog) during these long weekends.
Bus line 163 runs every hour from Groningen to Lauwersoog on Wednesday 25 May and Friday 3 June between 13.00 and 19.00. The extra buses from Groningen Main Station connect to the express boat to Schiermonnikoog at 3:09 PM and 6:09 PM. Following the departure times of some ferries to Schiermonnikoog, two buses instead of one run from Groningen to Lauwersoog.
On Sunday 29 May and Monday 6 June, bus 163 will run from Lauwersoog to Groningen every hour between 2.25 pm and 8.25 pm. In addition, following the arrival of several ferries, a second bus will run from Lauwersoog to Groningen.
You can travel with bus line 163 with the OV chip card. You can also buy a ticket from the driver – pay with the pin. Each adult with a valid ticket can take a maximum of three children from 4 to 11 years old on the bus for free.
