But that is not enough to find the local residents. “The intention is good, but the urgency is missing,” says Papenfuss. “We have now talked about specific district Noord, but it is a much bigger problem. Apparently there are too few neighborhood agents in Noord and throughout Amsterdam.”
According to him, that there are too few police officers walking around, but only more police are not enough. “To improve safety in this area, you need care, in particular for the youth who are in danger of nuisance to crime. It is about preventive presence of the youth workers, the police, the regulators. They must be present much more.”
