The owner of a wellness center in Veldhoven where an explosive was thrown inside on Thursday says there was a mistake. The perpetrator also left a message. The fire caused by the explosive caused extensive damage.
The owner still sounds affected when Omroep Brabant speaks to her on Friday. “You suddenly find your case like this.”
A neighbor called the emergency services after hearing a loud bang around five in the morning. “I saw a plume of smoke and immediately called,” he told Omroep Brabant on Thursday.
“I heard on Thursday morning that there had been an explosion, but I was not allowed to come and have a look,” says the owner. “It’s annoying. You know something happened, but you’re not allowed to go and look.”
The woman is still very shocked by what happened in her case. “It would be a targeted attack, but not on me,” she says. “I’ve only been duped. But we’ll continue anyway, you have to do something.”

For now, she has to wait until her part of the property is released before she can start cleaning up.
“We let it happen to us,” sighs the owner. She now has an appointment to file a report. She is sure the attack was not aimed at her, but does not want to speculate further. “We are awaiting the police investigation.”
The property owner rents out the space of the wellness center. The perpetrator(s) left a message in front of the building. These texts were not there the day before the explosion, the owner of the building said.
Our reporter could not read what it said on Thursday and the police did not allow us to come closer. The owner also does not respond to the question of what was written: “That is not my job.”
After extinguishing the fire, the fire brigade found a stone that was probably used to destroy a window, after which an explosive was thrown into the building.
