Expedition Robinson sinks, overtaken by Hunted: ‘Disappointing’

The RTL 4 show Expedition Robinson seems to be magic touch to lose. After the all-stars season flopped in the spring, the new regular season is also currently a bit below par.

Until this year, Expedition Robinson always guaranteed at least a million viewers per episode, but the popularity of the format seems to be declining a bit. The all-stars season had an average of 672 thousand viewers last spring. It was the first time since 2010 that less than a million people watched Robinson on average.

Just in top 15

Now Expedition Robinson also remains well below that million mark. Yesterday, for example, ‘only’ 781 thousand people (14 percent market share) watched the broadcast on RTL 4. With that, the program only just managed to maintain itself in the daily top 15 viewership, which is a bit disappointing.

Three programs did better at the same time: Radar with 1.4 million viewers (24 percent) on NPO 1, Chateau Meiland with 1 million viewers (18 percent) on SBS 6 and Hunted with 832 thousand viewers (15 percent) on NPO 3 .

What does Tina say?

How does viewership professor Tina Nijkamp view this? “Hunted on NPO 3 bigger than Expedition Robinson on RTL 4. That is very striking. Hunted is by far the most successful program of NPO 3. Expedition’s score is disappointing. It’s only the number four from 8.30 pm,” she writes on her channel.

What about the commercial target group? “In the target group 20 to 54 years, Hunted is also the big winner: 23.3 percent, Expedition Robinson 19.7. Chateau Meiland 15.6. Radar old with only 10.9.”

VI wins talk show battle

The most watched talk show of the evening was Today Inside with 873 thousand viewers (19 percent) on SBS 6. Followed by 1 with 673 thousand viewers (26 percent).

Eva Jinek had an exciting broadcast because of a few running away football supporters, but she has to be satisfied with 662 thousand viewers (19 percent).
