He had hoped to celebrate his farewell party among the scaffolding. But things do not go smoothly with the renovation plans of the National Prison Museum. The sharply rising prices in the construction industry are the culprit, says director Peter Sluiter, who will retire next week. “The question is whether the original plan is financially viable at the moment. We should not have the Prison Museum expanding nicely and then getting into huge financial problems.”
