ExitPolls: Germany makes a rig to the right, CDU by Friedrich Merz wins elections, AfD takes “Historical” 20 percent

The Christian Democrats of Friedrich Merz have won the elections of the German Bundestag. This is apparent from the first forecasts after the polling stations closing at 6 pm. They give the list combination CDU/CSU the most votes with 28.5 percent. The extreme right -wing AfD by Alice Weidel finished second with 20 percent of the votes. The SPD of retiring Federal Chancellor Olaf Scholz suffers a historic loss and managed to convince only 16.5 percent of voters. Around 84 percent of German people entitled to vote went to the Kieslokaal.
