In Belarus, the first stage of testing the reaction forces of the Union State “Union Resolve-2022” has begun, during which the military personnel will work out the fight against illegal armed groups, about this reported in the Russian Ministry of Defense.
“In united battle formations [военные] practice various techniques and methods of combat operations. During the stage of combat coordination at the training grounds, issues of conducting defense and combating illegal armed groups are being worked out,” the ministry said in a statement.
Russian-Belarusian exercises are taking place at the Gozhsky, Brestsky, Domanovsky, Osipovichsky and Obuz-Lesnovsky training grounds. The maneuvers are attended by motorized rifle units, artillery crews, crews of tanks and infantry fighting vehicles (IFVs), crews of anti-tank guided missile systems.
NATO allowed Russia to use exercises to mask the invasion
The first stage of the exercises will last until February 9, during which time Russian units will create groupings of forces on Belarusian territory and form the defense of the most important state facilities, and will engage in the defense of the air border. Then within ten days – from January 10 to January 20 – the second stage of the exercises will take place. The military personnel of Russia and Belarus will work out the repulse of aggression from the outside, the fight against terrorism and “protection of the interests of the Union State.”
