Work permit pending
A year after leaving SV Werder Bremen, Ludwig Augustinsson left FC Sevilla and moved on to England. The 28-year-old Sweden international joins Aston Villa on a year-long loan. Both clubs announced the basic agreement on the transfer on Monday evening. Augustinsson still has to get a work permit.
The deal is said to include an option to buy the Villans. Should this be drawn, the total transfer including rental fee is reported to be around 4.5 million euros – 1 million below the purchase price that was transferred to Werder. Augustinsson made 27 appearances for Sevilla, but the left-back was unable to secure a regular spot.
Aston Villa can confirm the club has reached an agreement with Sevilla FC for the season-long loan of Ludwig Augustinsson.
