Former Stuttgart professional
Istanbulspor has introduced a new coach, former Stuttgart Bundesliga professional Hakan Yakın. The 46-year-old Swiss has received a two-year contract with the second-to-bottom team in the Süper Lig. Yakın succeeds Fatih Tekke, from whom Istanbulspor parted ways at the start of the season after two draws and two defeats. Most recently, assistant coach Olcay Demir was on the sidelines three times on an interim basis.
Yakın’s last stop was FC Schaffhausen. For the ex-professional with Turkish roots, his involvement with Istanbulspor is his first coaching job outside of Switzerland. During his playing days, Yakın played twice for Galatasaray.
