THEhe scandal that has engulfed the former Yorks is becoming increasingly sinister. Historian Andrew Lownie, author of Entitled, The Rise and Fall of the House of York (William Collins editions), a book on the shadiest activities of Andrea and Sarah Fergusonrevealed that the former prince and former duchess took a big risk. In 2019, locked in an American prison awaiting trial and worried about how much his two friends knew about his activities as a pedophile, Jeffrey Epstein quickly realized he had no choice. So much so that he plotted to have them murdered as soon as possible.
The former Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson in the sights of an assassin
According to what Lownie told in a recent podcast, Epstein had tried to hire a former sniper, choosing him from among the best sharpshooters in the SASthe British Army’s special forces. Accused of abuse and trafficking of minors – including Virginia Giuffre, main accuser of Andrea Mountbatten Windsor – the entrepreneur seems to have become paranoid at the thought of what the Dukes of York could have revealed about his private life and the crimes he committed. For this reason it was decided to eliminate both of them before the trial.
Epstein had plotted with a sniper
Jeffrey Epstein certainly had no shortage of contacts in international criminal circles and it seems he even managed to approach a former English sniper, sending him instructions to the final elimination of the Yorks. This was revealed to Lownie by two independent sources, one in Paris, the other within the FBI in Florida.

Sarah Ferguson had tried to save herself
It is very likely that Andrea and Fergie knew about the plot and the death threatLowie explained. And precisely to try to save herself and her ex-husband, Ferguson may have sent the recently surfaced email to Epstein in which she apologized for having publicly called him a pedophile. The same email pushed her many charities and entrepreneurial activities to abandon her, a decision later followed by that of King Charles, who stripped the Yorks of all titles.
Did the Royals really want to take out Epstein?
Even Epstein, however, was also afraid of being killed, and feared that assassins might even be sent to assassinate him by forces linked to the Royal Family. His association with Andrea had already caused a deeply damaging scandal for the monarchy and, with Epstein still alive, the risk of new revelations concerning the then Prince and Duke of York was to be avoided at all costs.
The former Prince Andrew took a big risk
Lownie said he had the opportunity to view some FBI files containing evidence that the millionaire’s death in prison, originally recorded as a suicide, actually occurred at the hands of another inmate. «If Jeffrey Epstein hadn’t died», concluded Lownie, «Andrea and Fergie would certainly have been murdered. They know too much.”
