Francesco Vanderjeugd, until last year mayor of Staden, appeals his conviction for interest and embezzlement. Vanderjeugd was sentenced to 1 year in prison for this and the judge forbade him to perform a public office for ten years. According to the judge, Vanderjeugd abused his prior knowledge in the purchase and sale of real estate to a developer.
