Ex Louvre director suspected of fraud with Egyptian treasures

A former director of the Louvre in Paris is suspected of fraud with a number of Egyptian archaeological treasures. According to a French judicial source, he would have cooperated in covering up the provenance of the finds. According to the indictment, the archaeological pieces were smuggled from Egypt during the Arab Spring (2010-2012) and then provided with false certificates to disguise their origin.
