The majority of players taking part in the World Cup play in Europe. Even the players who don’t play in Europe mostly have the same general schedule as Europe with the season starting in August and the season ending in May/June with a correspondingly long summer break.
And that’s why the World Cup has always been based on the schedules of these players and fans.
