Ex-Bundesliga star must fear a new lock

The ongoing financial problems continue to cause problems for FC Barcelona. Now an ex-Bundesliga star has to fear again for his entitlement to play.
Spanish football champion FC Barcelona and coach Hansi Flick tremble on the hanging game for the right to play some of his actors such as Dani Olmo before September 1st. Then a judgment in Spain is expected after the end of the judicial summer break.
Due to persistent financial difficulties, the ex-Leipziger Olmo can currently only play for the temporary. The basis for this is a decision by the Supreme Sports Authority of Spain (CSD) of April 3. She allowed Olmo – contrary to the will of the Spanish professional league under President Javier Tebas – in the last games of the past season and in the first games of the new season. But Laliga appealed to the National Court of Justice in Madrid against this decision.
If the league court agrees, Olmo loses its entitlement to play with immediate effect – as at the beginning of the year. So that the club can register the midfielder again on the same day, Barça would have to comply with the so-called 1: 1 rule of the league. This states that new contracts may only be entered if salaries are saved to the same extent or additional income is obtained.
According to the specialist newspaper “AS”, in addition to Olmo, Gerard Martín, Wojciech Szczesny and newcomer Roony Bardghji are also on the brink. If the financial requirements are not met, you also face a lock.
Until the end of the transfer window, Barça has little time to complete player sales and create financial relief. If this does not succeed, Olmo could recover for the club at the earliest in winter.
