His farewell from Berlin to Leverkusen four years ago was not necessarily silent. After his move to Werder, ex-Herthan player Mitchell Weiser does not like to look back on his time at Bayer.

soccer pro Mitchell Weiser from Bundesliga club Werder Bremen is reluctant to remember his time at Bayer Leverkusen. “There weren’t many opportunities left where I could think about what else I can do at all. It was just training, no more games,” said the 28-year-old to “kicker” (Monday).

Before his loan and the later permanent commitment at the Weser, Weiser had played no role in Leverkusen. That caused self-doubt: “And when I came to Bremen and things didn’t go so well at first, I thought: Have you forgotten everything? I actually didn’t know that about myself.”

In 2018 he forced his move to Bayer, didn’t speak well afterwards about the Hertha coach at the time Pal Dardai and his time in Berlin.

Weiser will return to his old place of work with Werder next Saturday (3:30 p.m. / Sky). With a win, Bremen could exacerbate the unfortunate situation with Leverkusen, who are second to bottom in the table: “First and foremost, I’m enjoying my time with Werder, but I also have in mind that many people no longer believed in me,” said the Werder professional .
