Ex-Dortmunder Großkreutz calls for change at BVB

Dortmund (dpa) – Ex-national player Kevin Großkreutz has demanded a change in personnel at his former club Borussia Dortmund as a consequence of the current season.

He hopes that the future sports director Sebastian Kehl will do a good job, said the 2014 soccer world champion in the “ran Bundesliga web show”. “I would like to see four or five newcomers. We need guys on the pitch, possibly two or three players from our own youth,” explained the 33-year-old.

In his opinion, defense chief Mats Hummels and offensive player Marco Reus should definitely be kept. “You know how Dortmund plays and how people tick here,” said Grosskreutz, adding: “We have to be more than a springboard for players who only want to stay for two years.”

Second-placed Borussia Dortmund had recently lost 3-1 at Bayern Munich in the Bundesliga, giving the leaders their tenth title win in a row.
