Kevin Trapp’s departure is perfect: the former captain leaves Eintracht Frankfurt and joins the French promoted Paris FC.

Eintracht Frankfurt must now do without Kevin Trapp. What HR sport had already reported last Wednesdayis now official: the goalkeeper changes to the French first division promoted Paris FC. The Hesse announced this on Tuesday evening. The association was silent about the transfer fee, but it is said to be around one million euros.

Trapp: “I was, I am and stay eagle”

“Today it is difficult for me to find the right words. Because I have to pack two feelings: anticipation and sadness in one: I am looking forward to a new chapter, but at the same time I am sad that the Eintracht finally had to say Ade,” Trapp is quoted in the club report. “I was, I am and stays eagle. Nevertheless, I go. Because I found the perfect moment to dare something new again, something that irritates and challenges me.”

According to HR information, Trapp had been communicated at Eintracht that he was only number two as soon as his competitor Kaua Santos is fit again. After his cruciate ligament rupture from last season, the Brazilian is said to be back between the posts on match day 3 on the 3rd matchday against Leverkusen, at least the Frankfurter plan.

For his designated successor, Trapp found praising words at the farewell: “I don’t have to have a guilty conscience, on the contrary. Eintracht is well positioned with him,” he said.

Trapp went to Paris – and came back

Trapp has played 383 competitive games for Eintracht and was the captain of the Hesse last season. In 2012 he came to the Main from Kaiserslautern. In 2015 he switched to Paris Saint-Germain, in 2018 he returned to Frankfurt. Trapp’s fiancee Izabel Goulart continues to have their center of life in the French capital.

“Because of his achievements and merits, it was a matter of course for us to meet his change of change,” said Eintracht sports director Markus Krösche and praised the long-time goalkeeper as “one of the faces of the Eintracht, captain and leaders”. “Despite his farewell, Kevin will always stay part of Eintracht Frankfurt.”
