Bayern have won the title again and are German champions for the tenth time in a row. This annoys even the ex-captain of the record champions, Philipp Lahm.
Former captain Philipp Lahm is critical of his former club Bayern Munich’s ten-year dominance in the Bundesliga.
“It’s not good, of course, that’s out of the question. I think it’s not so good for Bayern either that they are champions so early,” said the 38-year-old in the ZDF “Sportstudio” after the 3rd: 1 of Munich on Saturday evening in the top game against Borussia Dortmund, with which they were able to win their tenth championship title in a row on the 31st matchday in their own stadium.
“It must be tighter”
“It can happen that Bayern become champions one after the other, but it must be closer that the Bundesliga is really exciting until the end and is not always decided four games before the end,” said Lahm.
He himself won eight championship titles with FC Bayern before retiring in 2017. The former captain of the German national team and world champion of 2014 is currently head of the organizing committee for the European Championship 2024 in Germany.
