Marco Reus led Los Angeles Galaxy to victory in the MLS as a joker. The ex-BVB star prepared Brazilian Gabriel Pec’s goals after coming on as a substitute at Atlanta United.
The striker secured the 2-1 (0-0) with a brace (74th/79th) and thus the fourth win of the season for the former champions in the twelfth game of the season.
Captain Reus came on as a substitute in the 65th minute, shortly afterwards Atlanta’s opening goal came from Jay Fortune (69th). But LA turned the game around thanks to the former Bundesliga star’s precise passes. Pec remained strong in front of the goal.
With 16 points, the Galaxy are in eighth place in the Western Conference and are still well behind the top teams San José Earthquakes (29) and Vancouver Whitecaps (26), who tied 1-1 (1-0) in the day’s top game.
Timo Werner (injured) and Thomas Müller (ill), who once played together for the German national team, were not used.
