Ex-Bundesliga star apparently before 70 million transfer

A few years ago, Matheus Cunha played in the Bundesliga. Now he could soon change the club for over 70 million euros.
Ex-Bundesliga star Matheus Cunha is apparently faced with a move to Manchester United. This reports several British media, including the BBC and the “Daily Mail”. Accordingly, the offensive player from the Wolverhampton Wanderers could switch to the “Red Devils” by an exit clause in his contract of around 73 million euros.
Cunha was already active in the Bundesliga for RB Leipzig and Hertha BSC. Cunha had only extended his contract with Wolverhampton last winter, but already explained in an interview with the “Guardian” that he “had to take the next step”.
“I want to play for titles, for big things,” he said and confidently announced: “I have potential.” In his time for the hikers, Cunha definitely showed his performance: this season alone he scored 16 goals and four templates in 31 games across competition.
Manchester United meanwhile searches for a top scorer. Rasmus Højlund and Joshua Zirkzee have disappointed in this regard so far and did not come to a double -digit goal yield this season.
Cunha could remedy coach Rúbin Amorim, who, like Wolverhampton, has a 3-4-3 system. However, there is a question mark behind Cunha’s self -control: This season alone, he saw the red card twice due to an assault, making a total of six games.
There is also a question mark behind Manchester United’s finances. The proud traditional club experiences a disastrous season, is only in 14th place in the premiere League. The only chance to achieve international business is a victory in the Europa League. There, the “Red Devils” recently reached the semi-finals through a dramatic 5: 4 against Lyon in the quarter-final second leg and next to Athletic Bilbao.
If the European League victory and thus the Champions League qualification failed, United would have to accept great financial losses. There are enough competition for a commitment from Cunha: According to the reports, Liverpool, Arsenal, Chelsea and Newcastle should also be interested in the 25-year-old.
A change for 73 million euros would be a new transfer record for Cunha. Leipzig still transferred 15 million euros to Sion for his services in 2018. In January 2020 he moved to Berlin for 19 million euros before going to Atlético Madrid for 35 million in the summer of 2021. Wolverhampton finally transferred 50 million euros to the Spaniards in June 2023.
